Adamson Engineering would like to Introduce to you Vicente Benavides

Jose "Vicente" Benavides

ASSISTANT ENGINEER

Jose “Vicente” Benavides has been with Adamson Engineering as an Assistant Engineer since 2023. Vicente graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in December 2022. He also holds an Associates of Science from Texas Southmost College.

INVESTIGATOR

Vicente gathers vital information surrounding vehicle crashes through vehicle and scene inspections. This includes crash data from event data recorders (EDRs) in passenger and commercial vehicles and documenting collision evidence at scenes.  Using 3D model generation, he can document vehicle conditions, take photographs and record measurements. Vicente is also trained in crash investigation and reconstruction.

TECHNICIAN

Vicente has always taken interest in everything automotive, from changing fuses to reprogramming advanced automotive computer systems. He enjoyed his time working on the Hard Truck Platooning project within the Connected Autonomous Safe Technologies lab at Texas A&M. Here, Vicente designed and implemented a Controller Area Network system, which collected vital information, for the operator of the Aggie Spirit Bus. This information was then transmitted to a connected computer for real-time analysis and allowed the driver of the Aggie spirit bus to manipulate two buses in tandem. He has begun dabbling in controller area network analysis, looking for locations where possible collision data may exist outside of traditional EDRs.

FAMILY

When not investigating collisions, Vicente spends time with his family and loved ones. He also enjoys watching professional racing, such as Formula 1 and Endurance Racing.
